Virtual reality is making breakthroughs in fostering creativity and reimagining aspects of life. There are many pros associated with virtual reality, such as, as a way to explore the world and also as a way to treat medical patients. With the invention of virtual reality, it has opened many doors for a lot of professionals and consumers.
Though virtual does seem extremely beneficial, there are some cons. Virtual reality may shift people to edge away from real life and immerse themselves in a virtual world where they can act as they want without repercussions. Virtual reality may also give people false assumptions of real life, such as, jumping off a building in a virtual world would not hurt a person whereas, jumping off a building in real life would.
Virtual worlds foster creativity by allowing people to see real-life demonstrations while reading about the subject. One such example would be in Joe Earle's article about virtual reality moving into classrooms. In the article, students are reading about how dinosaurs move, but with virtual reality, they can see how dinosaurs actually move instead of imaging it, reinforcing the details they are learning about.
In the future, I definitely see virtual reality being improved heavily, with advances in graphics and also maybe even real-life senses.
